Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Side Projects Mac app and the website at getsideprojects.app. They handle data differently.

The Mac app

Your list of domains, expiration dates, and fetched favicons are stored locally on your Mac. The app does not require an account, sync your list to our servers, or include in-app analytics. Removing a domain in the app removes its local record.

To check expiration dates, the app sends the domain you add directly to the relevant domain registry using RDAP or WHOIS. It also requests favicons directly from the websites for domains you track. Those services can see the domain requested and connection information such as your IP address. If you choose Open Registrar Lookup, the app opens your selected lookup provider in your browser with that domain in the URL. That provider's privacy policy then applies.

The website

If you join the launch waitlist, we send your email address to Resend to keep it on our waitlist and send a launch update. You can ask us to remove it at any time. We do not use waitlist addresses for a newsletter or sell them.

The site uses Vercel for hosting and website analytics, and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Visiting the site can send connection and usage information, such as your IP address and pages visited, to those providers. This website activity is separate from data stored in the Mac app.
